A Simplified Employee Pension Individual Retirement Arrangement is used by small business owners and their employees. Administration costs for SEP IRAs is low. Funds placed into these accounts are taxed at ordinary income tax rates when withdrawals are made after age 59½. Contributions to these plans are deductible, lowering a taxpayer’s income tax liability.
